バタバタしているうちに、金曜日過ぎちゃった…
気をとりなおして、Folk Friday 第3回です。

今回ご紹介するのは、6/7に3rdアルバム―
Little Hell を発表したばかりのCity and Colour!!

City and Colourは
オンタリオ, CAN出身のハードコアバンド― AlexisonfireのG., Vo.である
Dallas Greenのソロプロジェクト。
Dallas＝街の名前、Green＝色の種類だから、City and Colourなのです。

Alexisonfireとはうって変わって
こちらは、心休まるフォーキーな音楽(笑)

リリースされたLittle Hell でも
メロディ・ラインの美しさ、心に飛び込んでくる歌詞
どこまでもやさしいボーカルは健在です。

以前ご紹介した♫ Against the Grainは
それこそ何度聴いたかわからないくらい大好き♥
もちろん、ほかにも名曲がいっぱいありますよー。

ちなみに、Dallasは
これまたわたしが大好きなアーティスト
― William Elliott Whitmoreと一緒にツアーしてたんですよ!
ヤバイです、この二人!!

ドラマ― 『グレイズ・アナトミー 6』で
Matthew Mayfieldの♫ Betterがかかりました!

『グレイズ～』は、大変ありがたいことに
わたしの好きなアーティストの曲をポロッとかけてくれたりするので
予想外のよろこびがあります(笑)

でも、「うわーーーこの人かかった!」とか思ってると
すっかりストーリーが飛んでいくので、良し悪しかも。。

とにかく、今回はMatthew Mayfield。
やっぱり沁みる声してます♪

Tom Waitsにはじまり
男性では、William Elliott Whitmoreや
Ray LaMontagne、Ryan Bingham。
(やさぐれ度では、Ben Nicholsがいちばんかも?)
女性では、Emmylou Harris、Janis JoplinにLinda Perry。
わたしの好きなシンガーには、しわがれ声ハスキー・ボイスが多いんですよね。
自分の声質と対極だから惹かれるのかな?
